    Daraju

DARAJU is a Yoruba language meaning: the best, the most beautiful. The preferred.
Daraju industries limited is a leading player in the personal and laundry care industries in Nigeria. Starting off as an importer of toothpaste for the local market in 1988, Daraju has gradually metamorphosed into a world class manufacturing concern.
Daraju was, until recently, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nagode group. It was registered originally in 1988 as a trading concern importing toothpaste, other house hold items and chemicals for the local market. The chairman, Mr Peeyush Garg, with deep insight into the local market, has so far propelled Daraju’s growth part to an African multinational company starting with a west African growth strategy.
Daraju industries transformed into a manufacturing company with the launching of toothpaste manufacturing plant in 2005 with her flag ship brand MY MY. This was followed with the opening of a detergent plant in 2008 and soap plant the next year.
The toothpaste and detergent factories are modern outfits with a fully integrated facility from printing and manufacture of boxes/ mono cartons to the production and packing of toothpaste. Within a year of commencement, the brand captured 10% market share in the Nigerian Market. Today, Daraju’s factory is one of the single largest manufacturing outfit with all these categories in NIgeria
Daraju took a bold strategic step in 2012 to acquire Liby/tidi products to complement her range of Personal, laundry and house hold care products.
Very recently, Daraju successfully added petroleum jelly and baby wipes to its personal care categories. The company also expands its detergent production capability to accommodate increasing demand.
Today Daraju has grown into a conglomerate conducting international trading beyond the African boarder.
The ownership profile changed in 2014 with the introduction of INVESTEC as new investors.
There is a high expectation from this brand. We will be watching.
