Irokotv, nicknamed the Netflix of Africa is a web platform that provides paid-for Nigerian films on-demand. It is one of Africa’s first mainstream online movie streaming websites, providing access to thousands of Nollywood film titles. It is about the biggest legal digital distributor of African movies.

Bringing amazing African entertainment to a global audience, Iroko partners developed technologies that connect African communities worldwide with content, education, and opportunities that will have a positive long lasting impact on their lives. It is passionate about great entertainment with services that provide rich affordable library of content that brings people closer to home.

Founded by Jason Njoku, irokotv was launched on 1 December 2011. This was following its parent company, iROKO Partners, by the same founder in London, United Kingdom.

While living in London Jason Njoku, realized how popular African movies had become. Despite a growing worldwide demand, there was no legal option to watch movies from his home country. He therefore decided to take matters in his own hands and negotiate licensing deals with local Nigerian producers

Today, IrokoTv with the tagline ‘‘Nollywood at your fingerprints.” Is not just the biggest digital distributor of Nollywood films, but on its way to be listed on the London Stock Exchange according to the founder.
