BUA Group: A Flourishing Nigerian Conglomerate

BUA Group stands tall as a dynamic and diversified conglomerate, playing a pivotal role in Nigeria’s Foods and Infrastructure sectors. Distinguished by its vibrant and forward-looking approach, BUA has ventured into various manufacturing segments, asserting its dominance as a major player in each of these industries. The conglomerate’s business portfolio is effectively divided into two key spheres:

Foods: BUA Foods Plc, encompasses five vital sectors – pasta, edible oil, sugar, rice, and flour. This comprehensive food business exhibits a strong commitment to quality and innovation, enriching the culinary experiences of millions.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure arm of BUA Group encompasses a diverse spectrum, spanning across cement manufacturing and distribution, real estate, mines, steel, and port operations. This multifaceted approach showcases the conglomerate’s dedication to both industrial progress and societal development.

BUA Cement: As the flagship entity, BUA Cement boasts an impressive combined capacity of 11 million metric tonnes per annum. With factories in Edo and Sokoto, it has firmly established itself as the second-largest cement producer in Nigeria.

BUA Sugar: This sector operates with a collective capacity of 1.5 million tons annually, with refineries located in Lagos and Port Harcourt.

BUA Rice: BUA Rice currently operate at 200,000 metric tonnes per annum and aiming to upgrade to 1 million metric tonnes. BUA Group’s rice initiative encompasses a vast 10,000-hectare plantation in Kano, with an ambitious out-grower scheme engaging around 100,000 rice farmers.

BUA Ports & Terminals: The group’s involvement in Ports and Terminals is exemplified by its stewardship of the Port Harcourt Terminal ‘B’ of the Nigerian Ports Authority, reflecting BUA’s commitment to strategic infrastructure management.

BUA Estates: Recognizing the burgeoning demand for real estate in Nigeria, BUA Group’s real estate arm orchestrates an array of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across major cities.

BUA Flour & Pasta: Boasting current capacities of 576,000 tons for flour milling and 250,000 tons for pasta production, BUA Group is poised to elevate these figures significantly, projecting a total capacity of 1.4 million tons in the near future.

Beyond Boundaries: BUA Group’s ambitions extend beyond national borders, notably evidenced by its collaboration with Erba Makina of Turkey. This partnership aims to construct Nigeria’s largest Plaster of Paris (Gypsum Powder) production plant, anticipated to reach a staggering capacity of 2,000 tons per day.

From its groundbreaking mega refinery and petrochemical facility to its relentless pursuit of innovation and expansion, BUA Group’s exceptional trajectory has garnered commendation even from global leaders.
