United Africa Company of Nigeria (UACN Plc), is an evergreen investment holding company that aims to generate attractive long-term returns for investors by growing its businesses into market leaders in their respective segments. A leading Nigerian diversified conglomerate that operates in the Food and Beverage, Real Estate, Paint and Logistics sectors of the economy. It is also involved in some strong regional and international partnerships in a bid to enhance sustainable growth and consolidate its leadership position.

UAC has been a foremost participant in the Nigerian economy since 1879 when it was established. It was a UACI’s group of companies in Nigeria, a group that was incorporated to transact in selected markets within the country. Many of these companies later became divisions under UAC of Nigeria in 1973 following a consolidation exercise.

UACN’s business activities was initially in the auto trade market but soon expanded into other areas. Strategic to its business conduct in Nigeria, the firm believed in the development of the economy and an improvement in the income of farmers and Nigerians as key to its success. This belief partly motivated its drive to expand into other areas of business. A major segment of the firm was produce buying of cash crops from local farmers for export to foreign markets. This activity also involved extension of credit to traders and middlemen who went into the hinterland to source for quality grades of produce.

UAC’s strategic partnerships are aimed at enhancing operational excellence and delivery capabilities as well as consolidating and building its market share in a competitive and fast growing market. The Company proactively seeks to take advantage of the opportunities presented by its current business model.

The Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme – The Goodness League is a major boost to education in Nigeria through its infrastructural intervention and support for Legacy Schools across the country. UAC’s Schools Support Programme has benefitted educational institutions in the South West, North West, South South, North Central and South East geo-political zones of the country.
