Samsung Electronics West Africa (Samsung) is a member of the Samsung Group, a South Korean multinational company with its headquarters in Samsung Town, Seoul. Samsung comprises of numerous subsidiaries and affiliated businesses with most of them united under the umbrella Samsung brand.

Samsung has a range of consumer and household products, from smart phone to household electronics, health products and enterprise solutions.

This largest phone maker by volume globally is today a part of everyday lives of many in Nigeria and across the world. Samsung notable industrial subsidiaries include Samsung Electronics (the world’s largest information technology company measured by 2012 revenues, and 4th in market value).

Samsung recently launched a program to develop 10,000 Electronics Engineers across Africa, the company has developed the Samsung Electronics Engineering Academy to provide hands-on, vocational skills training for grade 10 – 12 students.

Upon completion of the program, students earn themselves an opportunity for an internship in other countries like South Africa, with some going on to spend a full year working and learning at Samsung’s headquarters in South Korea. This is a major way the Samsung is giving back to the society.
