Lafarge Africa Plc is a leading Sub-Saharan Africa building Materials Company and member of the LafargeHolcim Group – the biggest building and concrete solutions company in the world. It is a publicly quoted company on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and serves Nigerians and South Africans with a wide range of building and construction solutions designed to meet housing and construction needs from small projects like individual home buildings to major construction and infrastructure projects.

With plants in Ewekoro and Sagamu in the South West, Mfamosing in the South-South and Ashaka in the North East of Nigeria, Lafarge currently has an installed cement production capacity of 10.5MTPA and has plans to grow in the near term.

Lafarge Cement was established in 1959 with its first factory in Ewekoro, Ogun State in 1960. The second factory in Sagamu, also in Ogun State was established in 1978.

In July 2001, as a result of a worldwide acquisition of Blue Circle Industries Plc by Lafarge SA, West African Portland Cement Plc (WAPCO) became a subsidiary of Lafarge.

In 2005, the Group pursued its strategy of strong value-creating growth by significantly expanding production capacity and modernizing industrial facilities. Lafarge has invested to keep pace with market growth and strengthen its positions in its four activities.

 In 2009 and for the fifth year in a row, Lafarge was listed in the ‘Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World’. With the world’s leading building materials research facility.
